Yoga Certification Now Offered Through Kinesiology and Campus Recreation

Last Updated 3 Year(s) ago

Auburn University students, faculty and staff may now complete a Registered Yoga Teacher, 200-hour certification course through the Auburn University School of Kinesiology.

The pre-requisite for this course is the YogaFit Level 1 training offered through Campus Recreation. This training is offered May 13-14, and August 12-13, 2017 at the Recreation & Wellness Center.

Upon completion of the YogaFit Level 1 training, students may sign-up for the Kinesiology course.  The practicums are held one Saturday or Sunday per month during each semester.

The fall semester includes Level 2 & 3, Anatomy and Alignment, Healthy Back, and Yoga Props.

The spring semester includes Level 4, Seniors, Pre/Postnatal, and Kids.

Each level adds more postures to the physical practice, additional teaching techniques, history and philosophy, breathing, meditation, sound therapy and more.  Whether you have a desire to teach or to learn more about the practice of yoga, this course offers a glimpse into the vast array of yogic literature and practice.
